Looking for insights on compound traffic and environmental relationships in drug development?
Join us on Thursday, October 6th for a special installment of HCAR's Lunch and Learn Series: An Ecological Look at Trends in Drug Development. Leading the discussion is Dr. Giovenella, Ph.D. Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine and Drug Discovery Analyst, University of Pennsylvania Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatric Medicine.
During the seminar, Dr. Giovenella will discuss the evolution of the industry in terms of drug trials, approval times, R&D costs and the types of approved drugs in recent years. A scientific analysis of worldwide drug discovery and development activities involving Pennsylvania companies is also planned.
An Ecological Look at Trends in Drug Development will also include:

About our Speaker
With 26 years experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Albert Giovenella, Ph.D. is an expert in pharmaceutical business and science analysis, having recently worked as a Health Science Consultant with Merck before retiring from the company in 2008. He is currently Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine in the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Division of Geriatrics and an Associate Fellow in the Penn Institute on Aging.
Using his mechanism of action studies, he is developing a risk model for drug development in each therapeutic area for decision makers and thought leaders. He organizes up-to-the-minute published facts into usable visual databases and interdisciplinary concepts to illustrate current and future trends in the biopharmaceutical industry.
