Hershey Center for Applied Research Tenant Selected to Present at 3 Rivers Venture Fair

Hershey, PA – July 23, 2009 – Apeliotus Vision Science has been selected to present at the 3 Rivers Venture Fair in Pittsburgh, PA on Sept. 15-16, 2009. The 3 Rivers Venture Fair is among the nation's most prominent showcases of breakthrough innovations in technology, life sciences and energy.

Apeliotus was launched last October to commercialize a novel technology for the early detection of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). AMD is the leading cause of adult blindness in developed countries. It affects more than 30 million people worldwide, including 1 in 6 over age 65 and 1 in 3 over age 75. The company’s diagnostic will allow routine detection of AMD in time for intervention before the onset of significant vision loss.
